About
Hi, I'm MJ JACQUOT.
Hi, I'm MJ. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of CAYA Clinical Counseling and Wellness. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable enough to show up exactly as you are (CAYA: Come As You Are)- without pressure, without judgment, and without feeling like you have to have it all figured out first.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I believe growth happens when insight and practical tools come together-it's to support you, help you better understand yourself, and work alongside you as you move toward a meaningful change. Our work will often include both exploring your past experiences and building coping skills you can use in your day-to-day life.
Many of the clients I work with are navigating life transitions, anxiety, relationship challenges, gender exploration, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. You might find yourself overthinking, people-pleasing, shutting down in conflict, or feeling overwhelmed by emotions.
Together, we will explore how your experiences have shaped these patterns and identify new ways of responding that feel more aligned with who you are and how you want to live.
I have extensive experience with and am passionate about working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community and those navigating life transitions. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I understand how important it is to have an affirming, inclusive space where you can talk openly about identity, relationships, and life experiences.
Whether you're coming to therapy because something feels overwhelming, you're trying to understand yourself more deeply, or you're simply ready for change, you don't have to go through it alone. Therapy can be a place to feel supported, challenged, and empowered to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
I'm honored to be part of that journey with you.
